Choose the Right Business Set-up that suits you

All companies in Singapore must be registered with ACRA and abide by the Companies Act, Chapter 50 if you are carrying out any activity for profit on an ongoing basis. Thus, you need to go through the incorporation process in order to start your business in Singapore.

Five different types of structures are available - Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Limited Partnership, Limited Liability Partnership and Limited Liability Company.

SP is a business owned by one person or one Singapore-registered company.

A partnership is an association formed by 2 to 20 partners carrying on a business in common with a view to profit.

LP is a partnership consisting of 2 or more persons, with at least one general partner and one limited partner.

LLP is a partnership where the individual partner's own liability is generally limited.

LLC is a legal business entity separate and distinct from its shareholders and directors.

Foreign companies that wish to establish a presence or expand their operations in Singapore have the option of setting up a Subsidiary Company, Representative Office or a Branch Office in Singapore.
